When you browse my books, you’ll find different genres available. I have always been an eclectic reader, and it’s only logical that I’m an eclectic writer as well. It keeps things fun and interesting.
I live in the Great Smoky Mountains of East TN, with my husband of twenty-two years, and our two sons. Recently, my four year old nephew has come to live with us so I’m outnumbered. I also have two stepsons, a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren, a girl and two boys. They all live in Mississippi, and we do not see them enough. I’ve been trying to convince them for years to move to God’s country where they belong. We also have two dogs, several chickens, and some uninvited, pesky pigeons who often interrupt my muse with their constant coos and wing fluttering outside my office window. We won’t talk about the mess they drop onto our front deck.
When I’m not writing, I teach college English classes. I enjoy engaging with students from different backgrounds and circumstances. Like my readers, they are a diverse group of people, and I feel I learn more from them than they learn from me. I also home educate our boys and I help my husband run our martial arts school. I lead a busy and interesting life, which both inspires and motivates my writing.
My hobbies include reading, hiking, cooking, singing, playing guitar and piano, being involved in church activities, and traveling.
I graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland online, and a M.A. in English from National University online. While it certainly isn’t a necessity to attend college for writing novels, I am personally thankful for my experiences in education and how they have contributed to my writing.
On any given day, you can probably find me with a cup of coffee in my hand and an idea in my head. My sister gifted me with one of my favorite shirts that reads, “I turn coffee into novels”. It takes more than coffee to put out good stories, but I’d go as far as to say the coffee is definitely a strong contributing factor. No pun intended.
